6月8日，菲律宾火山地震研究所在当天菲律宾群岛地区附近发生强震后发布海啸预警。
8日稍早时，中国地震台网自动测定数据显示，8日7时37分，在菲律宾群岛地区附近（北纬5.65度，东经125.27度）发生8.2级左右地震。（总台记者 黄铮铮）
