2008年汶川大地震，34岁的刘强东毅然拿出自己全部12万积蓄全数捐给受灾群众。深知灾区险境难料，他提前写下遗书，组队自驾越野车，历经两天一夜长途跋涉，冲破艰险挺进重灾平武县一线。
整整十四天里，他和团队扎根震中周边，搬运物资、帮扶灾民，直至主干道全线打通、社会救援车辆顺利开进灾区，确认当地物资补给步入正轨后，才安心带队撤离。
