5月6日， 湖北省纪委监委网站通报： 恩施州委书记胡超文涉嫌严重违纪违法，目前正接受湖北省纪委监委纪律审查和监察调查。
资料显示：胡超文，1966年10月生，湖北鄂州人，1988年9月参加工作，1989年6月加入中国共产党，在职硕士研究生学历，法学硕士学位。
