王晨辉教授，因营救至亲不幸去世，年仅39岁

上海科技大学生命科学与技术学院消息，王晨辉教授治丧工作小组5月3日发布讣告：

上海科技大学生命科学与技术学院王晨辉教授，因奋不顾身营救至亲，不幸溺水遇险，经全力抢救无效，于2026年5月1日19时46分永远离开了我们，终年39岁。

Professor Wang Chenhui of the School of Life Science and Technology at ShanghaiTech University died at the age of 39 on Friday after drowning while trying to save a close family member, according to an obituary released by the university on Sunday.

讣告称，王晨辉教授潜心科学、求实创新，始终坚守科研与教学一线，悉心培育青年学子，以扎实的学识、谦逊的品格和无私的育人情怀，深受全院师生敬重与爱戴。王晨辉教授为人忠厚谦和，胸怀大爱，他义无反顾以生命守护至亲，用无私与勇敢诠释了一位父亲的深情与责任，令人动容，更让我们深感痛惜。王晨辉教授英年早逝，家人、同事、学生和朋友万分悲痛。

In a statement issued by a memorial affairs group, the university described Wang as a devoted scientist, educator and mentor who remained committed to research and teaching throughout his career, earning deep respect and affection from colleagues and students alike.

The obituary said Wang "selflessly and courageously used his life to protect a loved one", calling his final act a profound expression of a father's love and sense of responsibility. His passing has left his family, friends, colleagues and students in deep mourning.

公开信息显示，王晨辉是助理教授、研究员、博士生导师，研究方向为成体干细胞，肾脏损伤修复。

Wang was an assistant professor, investigator and doctoral supervisor at ShanghaiTech, where his research focused on adult stem cells and kidney injury repair.

他博士毕业于北京师范大学/北京生命科学研究所，后在北京生命科学研究所、霍华德休斯医学研究所/卡耐基研究所从事博士后研究，2019年担任霍华德休斯医学研究所/卡耐基研究所研究专家。2021年，王晨辉任教上海科技大学。

他曾自述自己的求学经历，“我出生于一个普通的南方农村家庭，与城市小朋友课余上各种辅导班、兴趣班不同，我的课余时间在农忙时要参与干农活，农闲时课余是一个放牛娃。因此我小时候有大量的时间与大自然接触去观察生活中的各种生命现象，自然而然地对生命产生了好奇心，所以我2004年上大学时毫不犹豫地选择了生物专业。”

Born into an ordinary rural family in southern China, Wang once reflected on how his childhood shaped his passion for science. Unlike children in cities who spent their spare time attending tutoring or extracurricular classes, Wang said he helped with farm work during busy seasons and spent quieter days herding cattle, experiences that gave him ample time in nature and sparked his curiosity about life.

他说，“这些外人看来看似枯燥无味的科研活动对于热爱科研的人而言却不觉得乏味，因为我们肩负着探索人类未知领域的光荣使命感，这其实是实现自我价值的非常好的工作。每当在科研上偶有小突破则能够很好地增强这种对科研的兴趣。做科研需要有审慎的态度，对待文献要批判性思考，不能盲从和迷信文献。”

Wang also spoke passionately about scientific research, saying that what outsiders might see as tedious work was, for those who love science, a meaningful mission to explore the unknown and realize one's value through discovery.
