寒露过后，我国平均气温地域分布差异明显。长江沿岸地区最高气温较少高于30℃以上，华南地区最低气温也多低于20℃；10℃等温线南移至秦岭淮河一线，长城以北则普遍降到0℃以下。此时南方虽还未完全走出夏季，但秋意渐浓；北方已俨然是一派深秋景象，东北和西北部分地区甚至已进入或即将进入冬季。
