中国地震台网正式测定，3月12日20时14分在台湾花莲县（北纬23.78度，东经121.55度）发生5.3级地震，震源深度19千米。
据台湾地区气象部门测定，3月12日20时14分花莲县近海（花莲县政府南方24.7公里外）发生5.7级地震，地震深度15.1公里。
记者所在的台北市区无明显震感。
