“The field of science and technology has always created win-win opportunities for the peoples of China and the Philippines, and I believe that any exchanges and cooperation will be highly beneficial to both sides,” Napoleon Kilates Juanillo Jr., Assistant Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology of the Philippines, told 21st Century Business Herald reporters during the First Senior Officials' Meeting and Related Meetings of APEC China 2026, that China's development in science, technology and innovation is remarkable, and he expressed his hope to engage in more interactions with people from all walks of life in China through this opportunity.
Napoleon noted, "We have always regarded scientific and technological innovation as an engine for business and entrepreneurship. We hope to discuss with Chinese entrepreneurs how to leverage scientific and technological innovation to drive enterprise development. In particular, we aim to foster entrepreneurial spirit among young students and empower businesses with technology to enhance their efficiency and quality, creating greater value for all."
It is the first time for Napoleon to visit Guangzhou, and he particularly praised the city's green development and scientific and technological innovation capabilities.
"This is a very beautiful city. In just a day or two, we have deeply felt the warm hospitality of the people of Guangzhou." He noticed the DJI mini camera in the reporter's hand and said, "We can also buy such mini cameras in DJI stores in the Philippines, and the price may be even lower than in China."
