我们很高兴能与Antigen合作，将Wisp带到中国

2023年，年仅二十岁的超新星Wisp 凭借大热单《Your Face》崭露锋芒，以Z世代盯鞋领袖之姿闯入乐坛。她的音乐如冬日幻梦，为躁动世代带来现象级新声。该曲在Spotify播放量已突破1.6亿，并登顶Billboard“Hot Hard Rock Songs”榜单，令其迅速成为独立音乐界备受瞩目的新锐，在几年内就签入拥有Lady Gaga、Billie Eilish、2hollis等艺人的Interscope唱片，相继为Slowdive等传奇乐队担任巡演嘉宾，亮相多个国际主流音乐节。她深受Beach House、Cocteau Twins等乐队影响，将炽烈情感注入空灵声线，融汇梦幻流行、自赏与重型元素，织就独具辨识度的音乐景观。

此番Antigen力邀Wisp首次造访中国，在岁末呈现一场不容错过的空旷漫游之旅，也是我们的蛇年封箱巡演，日本专场一经公布旋告售罄。

“WISP”是一场偶然——2023年，原名Natalie R. Lu的她在YouTube发现了一首制作人grayskies所创作的器乐曲目，便着手开始为它添加歌词和旋律，然后在深夜时分把即兴完成的作品上传到TikTok上，第二天，Natalie就被接踵而来的消息惊醒，并惊奇地发现这首叫《Your Face》的歌一夜之间数十万播放，现今在Spotify已然突破了1.6亿+，堪称现象级的关注。如今，她已经是新世代不可忽视的盯鞋新贵，与Whirr、Avenged Sevenfold、Deftones和Korn等乐队同台献艺，被视为这一音乐流派在21世纪第二个十年复兴的领军人物。

WISP began by accident. In 2023, Natalie R. Lu added lyrics and melody to an instrumental by producer grayskies and posted the song on TikTok late one night. By morning, “Your Face” had gone viral, later surpassing 160 million streams on Spotify.

Now a rising force in the new generation of shoegaze, WISP has shared stages with Whirr, Avenged Sevenfold, Deftones, and Korn, and is widely seen as a key figure in the genre’s modern revival.

In WISP’s music, echoes of classic shoegaze bands like Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine are easy to hear, alongside influences from newer acts — especially her favorite, Whirr.

She describes her music as a form of healing, a way to express emotion and cope with life’s difficulties. Beyond shoegaze’s signature walls of sound and hazy atmospheres, WISP brings in deeply personal expression. Lyrics like “How do I see myself now? / Shed all of my skin / But I grasp onto / The beauty laid within” from “Sword” come from diary-like visions of unspoken affection, while “Get Back to Me” unfolds like a hypnotic lullaby, slowly voicing desperation, recklessness, and obsession.

Together, her songs evoke a submerged, oceanic feeling — an aesthetic rooted in her childhood by the sea — often drawing on imagery from Greek mythology, mermaids, and angels. WISP is also inspired by the ancient Greek poet Sappho, using simple yet elegant lyrics and melodies to convey emotional power and create resonance with listeners.

这一切都指向一种身处水下、被广阔海洋所淹没一般的氛围，而这种美学源于她童年时期在海边长大的经历，因此不少作品听起来围绕希腊神话、美人鱼和天使展开的童话作品。同时，WISP也非常喜爱古希腊诗人萨福的作品，通过简洁优美的歌词与旋律共同传递具有力量感的心声，与其他人产生共鸣则是她所追求的目标。

“我给了自己一个机会，在歌词和歌曲创作中展现最脆弱的一面，因为所有这些歌曲都与我的经历、我的处境以及那些走进我生命又离开我的人息息相关。我展现的是我个人的成长故事，是我对自我的反思...这就是我的目标。”

I’m giving myself the opportunity to be very vulnerable with my lyric-writing and my songwriting as well, because all these songs are very personal to things that happened to me, my situations, and the people that came into my life and left my life. I’m showing my own story of personal growth and reflection on who I am as a person... That was my goal.

WISP自小学习小提琴和钢琴，尔后又在青春期拿起了吉他和贝斯。在此之外，她也有一段长达是四年时间的芭蕾舞学习之路——她自弹自唱，结果往往既悦耳，又具有鲜明的个人表达。这不仅是她的特色，更是近年来所谓“nu gaze”、“zoomergaze”等一系列自赏复兴浪潮的标志性特点。

For her, shoegaze is a low-pressure form of creation, made effortless by years of musical training. WISP’s process is simple — writing, playing, and recording on her own, often within 30 minutes — yet the results are consistently melodic and deeply personal. This directness is not only her signature, but also a defining trait of recent revival waves often labeled “nu-gaze” or “zoomergaze.”

In 2024, WISP released her debut EP Pandora, collaborating with longtime partner Max Epstein of Photographic Memory, alongside Los Angeles producers Elliott Kozel, Gabe Greenland, and emerging artist aldn. Featuring rich instrumentation and ethereal atmospheres, the EP showcases the remarkable progress she has made in just one year as a recording artist.

而待到今年她的第一张个人专辑《If Not Winter》，她的风格也越发成熟。《If Not Winter》灵感取自于萨福的同名诗集，在这张专辑中，WISP也跨出更远一步，开始探索她作为“作家”的旅途。对于她来说，借鉴伟大作家的创作历程对自己的音乐大有裨益，因为两者在文学性以及发人深思这两点上有着一定的共通；同时，她也渴望获得构建层次丰富、错综复杂的故事的能力。《If Not Winter》取材于她的“痛苦”——从友情和爱情的变迁，到个人生活成名后的巨大变化与陌生感，WISP不断品味个中滋味，将它们转化为活在当下的精神动力，与她的听众们共享，并且时刻提醒一件事情——

WISP不是又一个因为算法而爆红、并且转瞬即逝的音乐人，她正坚定地开拓自己在独立音乐界的道路。

With her debut album If Not Winter, released this year, WISP’s sound has grown markedly more mature. Inspired by Sappho’s collection of the same name, the album sees her stepping further into her role as a writer. Drawing from the practices of great authors, she seeks greater literary depth and the ability to build layered, intricate narratives — qualities she sees as shared between music and literature.

If Not Winter is shaped by pain: shifting friendships and romances, and the disorientation that followed sudden recognition. WISP lingers with these experiences, transforming them into momentum for living in the present and sharing that energy with listeners.

Above all, the album makes one thing clear — WISP is not a fleeting, algorithm-driven breakout, but an artist deliberately carving her own path within the shoegaze world.
