1920-1933 年美国禁酒令期间，纳帕谷酒庄并未停产，而是转型生产 “药用葡萄酒”（当时酒精可作为药品销售）。
不少酒庄偷偷保留优质葡萄藤，甚至用伪装成苹果酒的酒标运酒。
禁酒令结束后，这些幸存的老藤成了纳帕谷的宝藏，如今不少顶级酒庄的核心地块，仍能找到百年前的 “禁酒令老藤”。
