香港警方与特区政府其他部门（12月2日）下午召开记者会表示，已完成大埔火灾5栋大楼搜救工作，搜救工作持续进行。截至下午4时火灾已造成156人遇难，仍有约30人失联。
香港警方表示，目前已有15人因涉嫌误杀罪被拘捕（14男1女），年龄为40至77岁，涉及相关维修工程公司人员。
