11月12日，樊振东4-1战胜薛飞晋级全运会男单八强，赛后接受采访时，他表示：什么比赛都很难打，不存在说只有全运会难打。
樊振东：“什么比赛都很难打，不存在说只有全运会难打，每一场比赛想战胜对手都需要付出很多。
每一届全运会自己能够出现在名单里，出现在赛场上，就是对我来说最大的荣誉。作为比赛来说，没有考虑过多的目标或者其他东西，更多希望自己能够在场上有好的发挥。”
