西班牙穆尔西亚大学把120株番茄分为三组：静默、莫扎特《小夜曲》、摇滚《Smoke on the Water》。30天后，摇滚组株高多出7厘米，坐果率增12%，但番茄红度低9%；古典组糖酸比最均衡。解剖发现，强烈低频刺激乙烯合成酶基因表达，让果实提前一周转红，却减少番茄红素。农场主于是建“半摇滚”播放清单：白天轻音乐，傍晚两小时摇滚催熟，错峰上市每公斤多赚0.3欧元，戏称“吉他的红不是红，是金子”。
