本届全运会广东省代表团有1072名运动员参加，是本届全运会参赛规模最大的代表团。十五运会分为竞体比赛项目和群众赛事活动，竞体比赛设34个大项419个小项，群众赛事活动设23个大项166个小项。在后续竞体项目374个小项的决赛中，由十位奥运冠军领衔的广东体育代表团将参加309个小项。
