As the Foster + Partners design team strolled the streets of Central, Hong Kong, the interplay of light and shadow between glass-walled buildings and traditional arcades captured HSBC's core ethos: a symbiosis of global vision and local heritage. This observation ultimately informed the design of HSBC-3, transcending the stereotype of a "cold and formal" financial space and transforming it into a "container of financial art" that embodies the brand's century-old heritage and the warmth of modern service.

当 Foster + Partners 设计团队漫步于香港中环的街头，玻璃幕墙建筑群与传统骑楼的光影交错，让他们捕捉到汇丰银行 “全球视野与本土底蕴共生” 的核心气质 —— 这份观察最终化作汇丰银行 3 号办公空间（HSBC-3）的设计脉络，让金融空间跳出 “冰冷严肃” 的刻板印象，成为承载品牌百年底蕴与现代服务温度的 “金融艺术容器”。

The exterior facade serves as a "dialogue interface between the city and the building." The designers chose double-layer Low-E glass for the curtain wall. The outer layer's light gray hue echoes the atmosphere of Central's financial district, while the inner layer is inlaid with a fine metal mesh. Sunlight filters through, casting shadows on the wall similar to traditional window lattices, alluding to the texture of Hong Kong's arcades. Curved glass at the building's corners mitigates the sharpness of the right angles. Pedestrians passing by can see the sky and streetscape reflected in the glass curtain wall, creating a "mirror" of the city, blending in with the environment while remaining recognizable. On rainy days, raindrops trickle down the glass curtain wall, leaving fine marks on the metal mesh. The cold, hard material is instantly transformed into a warm, dynamic beauty, perfectly reflecting HSBC's balance of rigorous service and humanistic care.

外立面是 “城市与建筑的对话界面”。设计师选用双层 Low-E 玻璃构建幕墙，外层玻璃以浅灰色调呼应中环的金融街区氛围，内层玻璃则嵌入细密的金属网格，阳光穿透时会在墙面投下类似传统窗棂的光影，暗合香港骑楼的肌理记忆。建筑转角处采用弧形玻璃设计，消解了直角的锐利感，行人从街头走过，能看到玻璃幕墙反射的天空与街景，建筑仿佛成了 “城市的镜子”，既融入环境又不失辨识度。雨天时，雨滴顺着玻璃幕墙缓缓滑落，在金属网格上留下细密的水痕，冷硬的材质瞬间有了温润的动态美，恰如汇丰银行 “严谨服务与人文关怀” 的平衡。

The interior space unfolds through a narrative of light, shadow, and texture. The entrance lobby boasts an 8-meter-high ceiling. The floor is paved with light gray marble from Italy, its natural veins flowing like flowing water, leaving a delicate sheen upon the touch. The walls are clad in beige travertine, its porous texture lending a sense of breathability to the space, avoiding the oppressive feeling of a financial institution. The ceiling is free of elaborate ornamentation, with linear lighting strips outlining simple geometric outlines. Warm white light diffuses from above, casting soft smears on the marble floor. Upon entering the lobby, visitors are naturally drawn to the central art installation—an abstract work of metal and glass, shaped like a "converging stream," a metaphor for the flow of financial capital and a nod to Hong Kong's coastal character. Below the installation, a circular seating area is furnished with dark brown leather sofas. The texture of the leather contrasts with the cool, hard stone, adding a touch of comfort to the waiting time.

室内空间以 “光影与材质的叙事” 展开。入口大堂挑高 8 米，地面铺着产自意大利的浅灰色大理石，石材的天然纹理如水流般舒展，指尖抚过能感受到细腻的光泽；墙面采用米色洞石，孔洞的肌理为空间增添了呼吸感，避免了金融空间的压抑。天花板没有繁琐的装饰，仅用线性灯带勾勒出简洁的几何轮廓，暖白色灯光从高处漫射而下，在大理石地面上形成柔和的光斑，访客走进大堂时，视线会自然被中央的艺术装置吸引 —— 那是一件由金属与玻璃打造的抽象作品，造型似 “汇聚的水流”，既隐喻金融资本的流动，又呼应香港的滨海特质，装置下方的圆形休息区摆放着深棕色皮革沙发，皮革的质感与冷硬的石材形成对比，让等待的时光多了几分舒适。

Functional zoning creates a balance between professionalism and warmth. The client reception area features a semi-open layout, divided by light wood low cabinets and glass partitions. The low cabinets are decorated with plants and HSBC history albums, allowing visitors to browse through them while waiting, immersing themselves in the brand's century-long history. The negotiation room features dark brown wood veneer walls, dark solid wood desks, and soft fabric chairs. The warm tones of the space create a less distant atmosphere for financial communication. Smart displays on the walls clearly display data reports, seamlessly blending technology and the humanities. The staff workspace emphasizes efficiency and comfort, with ample space between workstations, hard-wearing solid wood desks, and ergonomically designed chairs. A long bar counter is located near the window, where employees can enjoy a cup of hot coffee during their lunch break, overlooking the Central streetscape.

功能分区藏着 “专业与温度的平衡”。客户接待区采用半开放式布局，用浅木色矮柜与玻璃隔断划分空间，矮柜上摆放着绿植与汇丰银行的历史画册，访客在等待时可随手翻阅，感受品牌的百年历程；洽谈室的墙面贴着深棕色木饰面，桌面选用深色实木，搭配柔软的布艺座椅，暖色调的空间让金融沟通少了几分距离感，墙上的智能显示屏可清晰展示数据报表，科技与人文在此无缝融合。员工办公区则注重 “效率与舒适”，工位之间预留充足的走动空间，桌面采用耐磨的实木材质，座椅具备人体工学设计，窗边的休闲区设有长条吧台，员工午休时可在这里俯瞰中环街景，喝一杯热咖啡，缓解工作的紧张感。

Foster + Partners' design essentially aims to "translate HSBC's brand spirit into a perceptible spatial language." The designers delved deeply into HSBC's history—from its founding in Hong Kong in 1865 to its current status as a global financial institution. "Global connectivity, local roots" have always been at the core of the bank. As a result, the modernity of the glass curtain wall reflects its global vision, the texture of the metal grid echoes its local heritage, and the combination of stone and wood balances professional rigor with human warmth. Every detail in this office space conveys the message that finance is more than just numbers and transactions; it is also about connecting people and building trust.

Foster + Partners 的设计，本质是 “将汇丰银行的品牌精神转化为可感知的空间语言”。设计师曾深入研究汇丰银行的历史 —— 从 1865 年在香港成立，到如今成为全球金融机构，“连接全球、扎根本土” 始终是其核心。于是，玻璃幕墙的现代感对应 “全球视野”，金属网格的肌理呼应 “本土底蕴”，石材与木材的搭配则平衡了 “专业严谨与人文温度”。在这座办公空间里，每一处细节都在诉说：金融不只是数字与交易，更是连接人与信任的桥梁。

As night falls and the neon lights of Central illuminate, the glass curtain wall of HSBC Office Space 3 interweaves the interior light with the exterior nightscape, creating a warm glow against the city skyline. At this point, the space transcends the definition of "office space"; it embodies the HSBC brand spirit, a place where finance and art coexist, and a financial haven where both clients and employees can experience "professionalism and warmth."

当夜幕降临，中环的霓虹亮起，汇丰银行 3 号办公空间的玻璃幕墙将室内的灯光与室外的夜景交织，成为城市天际线中一道温暖的光。此时的空间，早已超越了 “办公场所” 的定义，它是汇丰银行品牌精神的具象化表达，是金融与艺术的共生之地，更是让客户与员工都能感受到 “专业与温度” 的金融港湾。
