The 138th China Import and Export Fair, popularly known as the Canton Fair and long regarded as the barometer of China's foreign trade, kicked off on October 15 in Guangzhou. The fair covers an exhibition area of 1.55 million square meters, with a total of 74,600 booths and over 32,000 participating companies, all setting new records. More than 240,000 buyers from 218 countries and regions, representing an increase of 10 percent from the previous session, have preregistered for the fair.
