财联社10月5日电，据新华社，记者从海南省气象局获悉，海南于今日10时20分继续发布台风一级预警，今年第21号台风“麦德姆”已于今晨5时加强为强台风级，中心附近最大风力14级（42米/秒）。记者从海南省应急指挥部获悉，截至10月4日22时，海南全省应转移危险地区人员143907人，已转移114065人。
