当地时间10月3日，伯克希尔·哈撒韦公司在提交给美国证券交易委员会（SEC）的8-K文件中宣布，公司董事会已于9月30日投票通过修订公司章程，将公司董事会主席和首席执行官的角色分开，即董事会主席和首席执行官将不再由同一人担任。该章程立即生效。阿贝尔将于2026年1月1日接替巴菲特，正式出任伯克希尔首席执行官，巴菲特则继续担任董事会主席。
