英超第6轮，阿森纳客场对阵纽卡斯尔联，上半场主裁贾里德-吉列在回看VAR后取消原本判给阿森纳的点球，英超官方对此作出解释。
比赛第16分钟，阿森纳前锋哲凯赖什突入禁区与纽卡斯尔联门将波普接触后倒地，主裁判贾里德-吉列第一时间判罚点球，在回看VAR后取消点球判罚。
英超官方解释称，在VAR回看后，主裁判推翻了原本判给阿森纳的点球。
主裁判宣布：“经过回看，纽卡斯尔门将先踢到球，没有犯规。最终判罚是坠球。”
