9月19日，北京香山论坛举行，本届论坛主题是“共护国际秩序，共促和平发展”。论坛期间，美国国防分析研究所研究员、美国前助理国防部长帮办施灿德接受封面新闻专访时表示，近期中美国防部长通话释放积极信号，中美需要定期进行接触和交流。希望双方能达成协议，提升过去的一些对话或交流的级别，更多交流沟通，实现合作发展。（封面新闻记者 粟裕）
