8月27日，俄联邦安全局称，一名伏尔加格勒市公民因策划袭击恩格斯军用机场被捕。报道称，这名35岁的男性公民曾在2019年至2022年居住在乌克兰。
俄方称，他此次策划袭击该军用机场是受乌安全局指使，目的是获得乌国籍。该公民还试图袭击俄国防部基础设施，目前他已被俄执法部门刑事立案。
