澎湃新闻消息，原南京军区副司令员林炳尧将军，因病于2025年8月18日逝世，享年82岁。
公开资料显示，林炳尧，1944年出生于福建晋江，1961年11月入伍，1964年入党，1984年9月至1986年在国防大学学习。
入伍后，林炳尧历任班长、排长、连长、团政委、旅参谋长、副师长、师长、军参谋长、副军长，1995年7月晋升少将军衔，1996年3月任第31集团军军长，2000年12月至2007年12月任南京军区副司令员，2002年7月晋升中将军衔。
