8月10日，华南理工大学建筑设计研究院发布讣告：华南理工大学教授、国务院政府特殊津贴专家，西藏自治区建筑勘察设计院主要创建者、首任院长，华南理工大学建筑设计研究院创院功勋、卓越的开拓者、原院长，陈开庆同志，因病医治无效，于2025年8月8日在广州逝世，享年93岁。
