当地时间8月5日，据日本广岛县警方消息，当天上午，位于广岛市南区的广岛大学霞校区内一处施工工地发现疑似为未爆弹的物体。部分周边道路目前限制通行。
据称，疑似未爆弹的物体长约60厘米，直径约15厘米。
该施工工地今年5月曾发现未爆弹。广岛大学霞校区此前曾为日军陆军军械库所在地。
