上周和朋友逛猫咖,她盯着角落那只缅因猫眼睛都直了:“这猫是不是有20斤?看着比我家狗还壮!”我笑着戳了戳那只猫的胖肚子——其实缅因猫的体重,可不像表面看起来那么“夸张”。它叫“大壮”,是猫咖里的“老大哥”,公猫,快3岁了,体重刚好15斤,摸起来浑身都是肌肉,跑起来跟小豹子似的,哪里是什么“胖猫”?
一、不是所有缅因都能当“体重担当”
很多人对缅因猫的印象,就是“大”和“重”,甚至觉得“没个20斤都不算纯种”。其实不是这样的。我认识的几个缅因猫主人,家里的猫体重都挺“克制”:楼下张阿姨家的母猫“圆圆”,2岁,才10斤,照样上蹿下跳,把沙发当成“跳床”;同事小李家的公猫“虎子”,1岁半,12斤,每次抱它都能感觉到胳膊上的肌肉在发力——这才是缅因猫该有的样子。正常来说,缅因猫的体重范围很明确:公猫一般在12-18斤,母猫8-14斤。超过这个范围,要么是喂得太多,要么是没运动,反而不是“健康美”。
二、从小猫到成猫,体重是怎么“涨”起来的?
我朋友家的缅因猫刚生了一窝小猫,我去帮忙照顾的时候,简直被萌化了——刚生下来的小猫才100多克,跟个小老鼠似的,缩在猫妈妈怀里吃奶。满月的时候,每只小猫都长到了1.5斤,圆滚滚的,像个小毛球。3个月大的时候,小猫们开始调皮了,每天追着逗猫棒跑,体重也涨到了3-5斤。到6个月的时候,小猫们的体型已经跟普通猫差不多大了,体重能到7-10斤。等1岁以后,体重增长就慢了,直到2-3岁才会稳定下来。我朋友说,她家的猫“小橘子”,1岁的时候12斤,现在2岁了,才13斤,几乎没怎么涨——看来缅因猫的“成年礼”,就是体重不再“狂飙”。
三、胖成球的缅因,其实是“病态美”
去年有个客户带缅因猫来洗澡,那猫足足25斤,肚子上的肉都垂下来了,走两步就喘气。医生摸了摸它的肚子,皱着眉头说:“这猫有脂肪肝,就是因为吃太多零食,不运动。”我看着那只猫,觉得挺心疼——它本来应该像“大壮”那样,跑起来风风火火的,可现在连跳上沙发都要费半天劲。缅因猫虽然体型大,但胖成这样,对心脏、关节都不好。我认识的一个猫舍老板说,他们家的种猫,体重都控制在15斤以内,就是为了保证繁殖能力和健康。所以啊,别再羡慕“胖缅因”了,健康的才是最好的。
四、想让缅因保持好身材,得这么“喂”
我家“大壮”能保持15斤的好身材,全靠我“严格管控”。每天两顿猫粮,每顿一把,再加一点冻干,偶尔给点煮鸡胸肉——坚决不给零食!早上上班前,我会让它追逗猫棒跑10分钟;晚上下班回家,再陪它爬爬猫架。周末的时候,我会带它去楼下花园散步,让它看看外面的世界。“大壮”每次出门都特别兴奋,到处闻闻,跑起来跟小豹子似的。猫舍老板说,缅因猫的食量是普通猫的2-3倍,但只要控制好量,再加上运动,就能保持好身材。我觉得挺有道理——毕竟,“吃得多”不等于“吃得胖”。

其实缅因猫的体重,说到底是“健康”的体现。不是越重越好,而是要摸起来有肌肉,跑起来有活力。就像我家“大壮”,虽然不是猫咖里最胖的,但每次出门都能引来一堆人摸它的毛——毕竟,健康的缅因猫,才是最可爱的。下次再有人问你“缅因猫到底有多沉”,你可以笑着说:“看看我家那只,15斤,刚好!”
