7月31日下午，湖南省第十四届人民代表大会常务委员会第十七次会议经过表决，决定任命陈竞为湖南省人民政府副省长。
陈竞，男，汉族，1971年2月生，在职大学，中共党员，现任湖南省人民政府副省长、党组成员，益阳市委书记。
