7月25日，复旦大学法学院发布讣告：
中共党员、复旦大学法学院退休教师余先鼎，因病医治无效，于 2025 年7月 25 日凌晨 12 点 20分在上海市第八人民医院逝世，享年91岁。
余先鼎副教授遗体告别仪式于 2025 年7月29日(周二)上午 10 点 30 分在上海市龙华殡仪馆（徐汇区漕溪路210号）云尚厅举行。
