When asked to confirm and provide more details about claims by Japan's Kyodo News report that China is planning to invite US President Donald Trump to attend the military parade in Beijing in September, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Monday that at a news conference held by the Information Office of the State Council last week, relevant departments introduced the situation and arrangements for inviting foreign leaders to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

"Regarding the specific question you mentioned, I currently do not have any information to provide," Mao said.

Kyodo News reported on Sunday that China is planning to invite Trump to a military parade scheduled for Sept 3 in Beijing's Tian'anmen Square to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, citing sources familiar with the matter.
