日本西南部鹿儿岛县吐噶喇列岛及其附近海域6月21日以来地震活动频繁，截至当地时间27日下午已累计监测到超过490次小规模地震，最高震级5.1级。地震活动在23日达到峰值，26日后有所减弱。
地震目前未造成任何人员伤亡或财产损失。日本政府有关方面表示，地震可能再次发生，民众应做好防备，并否认了“将引发更大规模地震”的网络谣言。（央视新闻）
