此前，艾斯·贝利的团队曾明确表示，他们不想看到贝利加入黄蜂（第四顺位）或爵士（第五顺位）。 而且贝利拒绝了所有球队的试训邀请，他想要加盟一支自己可以成为队中头号选择的球队。
另据媒体报道，贝利只想加盟篮网、鹈鹕和奇才。
