· 1920年，一名印度牧师在狼窝中发现了两名被狼抚养的女孩——约8岁的卡玛拉和1岁半的阿玛拉。她们用四肢行走，夜间活动，用狼嚎交流，缺乏人类情感表达。阿玛拉1年后夭折，卡玛拉则在17岁时只达到正常儿童5岁的智力水平，且始终保留狼的习性，无法理解人类情感。
· 人类儿童需要10-20年学习复杂技能（如语言、工具使用、社会规范），远超其他动物（黑猩猩幼年期约5年）。漫长的童年期是 “文化适应” 的必要代价，一旦缺失，生物本能是无法替代社会技能的。
