HPV是指人类乳头瘤病毒，有百余种分型，其中HPV16型和HPV18型是最为危险的
HPV感染后没有任何症状，绝大部分能够被人体的自身免疫系统自我清除，只有不到10%的女性，无法完全清除体内HPV而持续感染，直到最终进展到病变甚至更加严重
目前医学上针对HPV的检测常采用HPV-DNA筛查，可以对HPV基因分型进行单独检测。
