近年来，莱斯特城在签约球员时已采取保护措施，球员也都同意，若留队征战英冠，薪资将削减35%-50%。
但即便降薪，球队的工资单在英冠层面也过高，可能将听取所有球员的报价。
根据capology的数据，目前莱斯特城队内薪水最高的球员是瓦尔迪，周薪14万镑，他也是队内唯一周薪超过10万镑的球员。
