当地时间4月14日，四位知情的美国官员当天透露称，特朗普政府计划在2026财年将美国务院预算减半，削减超过300亿美元。据悉，这一大幅削减可能导致近30个美国使团被关闭，对外援助也将被削减近75%。
此外，一份内部备忘录显示，作为该计划（尚未最终确定）的一部分，美国政府正在考虑一项建议，关闭至少27个主要位于非洲和欧洲的使团，其中10个是大使馆，其余是领事馆。（央视新闻）
