4月9日，腾讯公司公关总监张军发文回应微信已读功能：“其实，这不是一个新话题。我记得2023年7月就有过一个类似的热搜，当时也做过相关的回复：已读会增加信息接收者的心理负担和社交压力，所以从一开始微信就坚定不移地不提供这个功能，以后也不会。”
