根据ESPN数据，马龙是NBA历史上下课最晚的教练之一，时间与1980-81赛季的胡比-布朗持平。目前，掘金只剩3场常规赛就将进入季后赛的争夺。
胡比-布朗于1981年3月26日被亚特兰大老鹰队解雇，当时球队在1980-81赛季仅剩3场比赛，战绩为31胜51负。
