在本场比赛赛前，拉菲尼亚曾表示：“毫无疑问，就该对他们（阿根廷）下狠手，无论在场上和场下，如果需要的话，就该对他们下狠手。”
据TNT体育消息，在双方球员在比赛中发生冲突时，阿根廷队长奥塔门迪对着拉菲尼亚回应道：“现在继续说啊！”
