1月22日，外交部发言人毛宁在例行记者会上就菲方声称逮捕了所谓“中国间谍”一事作出回应。
毛宁表示，中国政府一贯要求海外中国公民遵守当地的法律法规，我们敦促菲方以事实为依据，停止捕风捉影炒作所谓“中国间谍”，切实保障在菲律宾中国公民的合法权益。
