当地时间12月20日，日本中国电力公司当天宣布，岛根核电站2号机组的发电和输电工作将于本月23日启动，较原计划的25日提前了两天。商业运行的开始时间仍为明年1月10日，未作更改。
岛根核电站2号机组于本月7日时隔约13年重启。该公司称，发电和输电工作的提前启动是因为相关检查等工作提前完成。
