1994年，美国雪城大学，陈慧娴在毕业典礼上和好友张学友的合影照片，两人当时不但同属于宝丽金唱片的同事，舞台上合作过很多次，私底下也被拍到经常在一起，两人一度被媒体认为在拍拖，但是后来陈慧娴却否认了，说：“我和学友是那种可以聊很多事情的朋友。”确定了两人是非常好的朋友关系。
