据中国石化，我国首个商业开发大型页岩气田——涪陵页岩气田累计生产页岩气突破700亿立方米。涪陵页岩气田分布于重庆市涪陵、南川、武隆等区县境内，是我国第六大天然气田产地，2014年3月投入商业开发。目前，涪陵页岩气田日产气量超2000万立方米。（央视新闻）
