当地时间11月8日，菲律宾总统马科斯发布第74号行政命令，正式禁止该国的离岸博彩业和网络博彩业。
7月22日，马科斯在发表国情咨文报告时宣布将禁止离岸博彩业。他命令菲律宾娱乐及博彩公司在今年年底前停止所有离岸博彩业的运作。
