据人民日报社官网显示，陈建文已任人民日报社总编辑。他此前任广东省委常委、宣传部部长。
陈建文出生于1965年9月，福建龙海人。
他曾在北京师范大学、北京市委宣传部、首都精神文明办工作。2011年4月调任中国文联，2019年1月任副主席、书记处书记。2020年6月任中央和国家机关工委副书记。2021年3月任广东省委常委、宣传部部长。
