云行雨步，超越九江之皋。

临观异同，心意怀游豫，不知当复何从？

经过至我碣石，心惆怅我东海。

Walking beyond the summer gate

Prelude

(Cao Cao of Wei Jin Dynasty)

The clouds assemble and the rain pours.

the river swells and the water crosses the levees.

Just when I see this scene,I hear different ideas about the strategy for fighting northward or southward.

My mind becomes hesitant and I don’t know to what I must adhere.

Just as I pass and reach the Rocky Hill, the East Sea ahead brings me a feeling of sadness.

观沧海

东临碣石，以观沧海。

水何澹澹，山岛竦峙。

树木丛生，百草丰茂。

秋风萧瑟，洪波涌起。

日月之行，若出其中；

星汉灿烂，若出其里。

幸甚至哉，歌以咏志。

Looking at the sea

I come eastward to reach the Rocky Hills where I can take a good look at the sea .

The water rolls and the mountain islands stand upright. The trees grow abundantly,and the grasses are lush and luxuriant.The autumn wind sounds drear and bleak.

The gigantic billows surge up high.

The sun and the moon appear to rise up from the deep sea .So does the Milky Way with the bright stars.

How happy I feel at this sight! Therefore,I croon this poem in delight.

冬十月

孟冬十月，北风徘徊，

天气肃清，繁霜霏霏。

鹍鸡晨鸣，鸿雁南飞，

鸷鸟潜藏，熊罴窟栖。

钱镈停置，农收积场。

逆旅整设，以通贾商。

幸甚至哉！歌以咏志。

October in the winter time

It’s October in the winter time when the northern wind blows off and on . The sky is cloudless with a rigid breeze and the frost is thick with frequent appearances.

The cranes sing at the dawn and the wild geese fly southward.

The hawks hide secretly in the nest ,and the bears stay comfortably in the den .

The farmer’s equipments are stored for maintenance,and the crops are laid away in the hoard.

The hotels are fixed and renovated to welcome the guests and merchants for accommodation.

I am In a happy mood ,therefore I sing a song to eulogize my will.

土不同

乡土不同，河朔隆冬。

流澌浮漂，舟船行难。

锥不入地，蘴藾深奥。

水竭不流，冰坚可蹈。

士隐者贫，勇侠轻非。

心常叹怨，戚戚多悲。

幸甚至哉！歌以咏志。

A different land

（Cao Cao of Wei Jin Dynasty)

I find that It’s a different country when I arrive at the northern part of the Yellow River in the midwinter.

The ice is afloat on the river which makes the boats very hard to sail.

The ground is too hard for the cone to plug in and the

fields are filled with turnips .

The river water ceases to flow and the ice on the river is hard enough for people to trample.

The elite people are poor but

the bold ones act against the law.

At the sight of this,my mind is often sad and filled with many sorrows.In such a pondering mood ,I sing a song to eulogize my will.

龟虽寿

神龟虽寿，犹有竟时。

腾蛇乘雾，终为土灰。

老骥伏枥，志在千里。

烈士暮年，壮心不已。

盈缩之期，不但在天；

养怡之福，可得永年。

幸甚至哉，歌以咏志。

Despite the turtle has longevity

Despite the mutant turtle has longevity,it will die in the end . Despite the flying snake can ride the fog,it eventually will become ashes.

Although the old horse is lying down in the stable,it still has an ambition in the far-away battlefield .Although the warrior is old ,his brave heart has never been discouraged .The length of human life does not totally depend upon the heaven.If one takes good care of himself , he still can enjoy a long and happy life.Fortunately and luckily,I am just such a man.Therefore, I would like to sing a song to express my idea.
