2024年8月7日，俯瞰江西省德兴市德兴铜矿露天采矿场，一派繁忙景象。德兴铜矿是亚洲最大的露天铜矿，也是中国最大的在产铜矿，已探明铜矿石储量17.1亿吨，德兴铜矿开采历史可追溯到唐宋年间。
该露天采矿场最高海拔500米，最低海拔-75m，高差575m，相当于190层楼高，为中国最深的露天采矿场。采矿场如一个巨大的锅立在崇山峻岭中，体现了大自然的天工造化。（艾世民）
