7月29日，据湖南日报：记者从省应急指挥中心了解到，受台风“格美”影响，7月26日8时至29日9时，资兴市平均降雨量409.9毫米，最大降雨673.6毫米，突破了郴州历史极值。暴雨导致部分乡村通讯中断，截至发稿时，尚有八面山瑶族乡3个村（仓田村、桎木村、大雁山村）通讯中断。目前，各方力量正在采取无人机等多种措施，尽早联通。
