5月17日，在国新办举行的2024年4月份国民经济运行情况新闻发布会上，国家统计局新闻发言人、总经济师、国民经济综合统计司司长刘爱华表示，1-4月份，全国城镇调查失业率平均值为5.2%，比上年同期下降0.2个百分点。4月份，全国城镇调查失业率为5.0%，比上月和上年同月均下降0.2个百分点。
