一个和尚挑水吃，
两个和尚抬水吃，
后来又来了一个和尚。
但故事并不是三个和尚都不挑水或抬水了，
而是后来来的那个和尚专门负责一日三餐的饮食和生活起居的卫生；
自此以后从前的那两个和尚吃得饱睡得好，
他们越来越勤快地过去挑的或抬的水更多了。
