瑞士政府6月9日公告称，瑞银宣布可能会在2023年6月12日完成对瑞士信贷的收购。为使收购成为可能，瑞士政府向瑞银提供担保，以弥补因变现瑞信资产而产生的任何损失。损失保护协议于2023年6月9日签署。只有当变现这些资产所造成的损失超过50亿瑞士法郎时，担保才会生效。总额上限为90亿瑞士法郎。瑞士政府和瑞银的首要任务是尽量减少潜在损失和风险，从而最大程度地避免诉诸担保。
