一张拍摄于1937年8月的老照片，这一年的7月29日，第二十九军撤离平津，北平沦陷。8月8日，狂妄的日寇举行了一场声势浩大的进城仪式，就是他们口里所谓的“入城式”。
照片中可以看到，在进入北平城后，一条日寇冲进故宫骑在门前石狮子上，手拿武士刀指着远处的城楼，一副耀武扬威、不可一世的自大嘴脸跃然于上。
