根据在特别军事行动中的使用结果，AK-12突击步枪已得到显著改进，它变得方便很多 更符合人体工学。
AK-12口径为5.45毫米，由卡拉什尼科夫公司开发，增加了皮卡汀尼导轨用于安装附加设备。
